Where Making Still Happens by Hand
Most of the workshops we work with are small — a handful of artisans, a courtyard, natural light through an open door. There is no assembly line, because none of this can be assembled. It has to be made.
Many of these workshops are run by women, working close to home, passing skills to the next apprentice one season at a time.
Start With the Material
Every piece begins with something raw — wool sheared from local sheep, bark stripped from a hillside shrub, cashmere combed from a mountain goat's undercoat. Nothing arrives pre-processed.
An artisan learns to read the material before they ever shape it.
The Hands Behind the Work
We can't tell you the name of every pair of hands behind every piece — but we can tell you they belong to real people, in real workshops, paid fairly for real time.
That's the difference a small order, placed with intention, can make.

There Is No Shortcut
A cat cave takes hours of wet felting. A singing bowl takes hundreds of hammer strikes. A Lokta journal takes a full day just to dry. None of it can be rushed without losing what makes it worth making.
